Red Ryder (Bill Elliott) and Little Beaver (Robert Blake) arrive on the scene too late to prevent the hold-up of the freight coach and the theft of a big bank shipment. Red's Aunt, the Duchess (Alice Fleming), operates the freight line and is unaware that banker Luther Jennings (LeRoy Mason) wants to scare her into selling him the freight line at a low figure. Jennings has Red's herd of horses stampeded, and makes it appear that Red staged a fake stampede in order to defraud the government. Captain Glover (Steve Barclay (I)') arrests Red, who maintains his innocence and persuades General Wingate (Stanley Andrews) to allow him to go after the real crook. Little Beaver accidentally finds the gang's cave-hideout and Red and Captain Glover find evidence proving Red's innocence and incriminating Jennings.

A reporter goes undercover to break up an outlaw gang.

Young Mary settles in a town to follow theater courses. Just after her arrival, she is sexually assaulted. The next day she meets Eve, a non-conformist young woman with frayed nerves, who drags her along in a nocturnal and violent maze. For the space of one night, they become Les Vigilantes.

David Ross organizes the ranchers into a vigilante group to rid the town of outlaws. The plan succeeds but the trouble starts when some of the men form a new vigilante group and posing as the original one plunder for loot.

Marshal Johnnie Taggart, posing as an outlaw named "Ace" Braddock, comes to Bannack, Montana to restore law and order. But he is recognized by Kitty, co-owner with Clay Curtwright of the infamous Bull Whip saloon. But "bad-girl" Kitty keeps her mouth shut. When Johnnie's pal Andy reports a stage holdup, Curtwright's henchman, Ben Borden, talks the sheriff and Judge Holden into suspecting Johnnie. Johnnie reveals himself to Judge Holden as a government marshal, and the judge voices his opinion that Curtwright is the leader of the road agents, but voices it in the presence of his granddaughter, Louise Holden.

When Rangers Lucky and his brother chase outlaws, the brother is killed. To find the killer Lucky quits the Rangers and robs the bank. This gets him into the outlaw gang where he learns of their next raid. Sneaking out at night he tells his girl friend who must now convince the Sheriff that Lucky is not an outlaw and that he must sent his men out to catch the gang.

Will Mannon, "product of the Devil's loins", is released from a frontier prison and promptly goes in search of the people who put him there around twelve years ago, Marshal Matt Dillon and Miss Kitty Russell.
